What our analysis found
Jujutsu Kaisen Cursor ★ Custom Cursor for Chrome™, used by 1,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. Its permissions mean it can read and change data on all websites. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in November 2025.
Analyst notes
All four supplied code files plus the CSS were read in full and implement exactly one thing: a popup that rasterises a bundled.cur file onto a canvas and stores the resulting data: URL in chrome.storage.local, and a content script (:20-34) that injects a single <style> rule setting that data URL as the page cursor. There is no anywhere, no host permissions, no DOM reading, and the only hosts referenced in the entire package are the publisher's own [domain withheld] (matching the listing's publisher website), [domain withheld], and the extension's own Chrome Web Store review page. Contradicting signals are the 0.85 ML score and the Unit42 IoC listing; corroborating context is chrome-stats impact and malicious siblings, though those are only context. Verdict is likely_benign rather than false_positive solely because jquery. (about 90 KB of the 103 KB js total, and the file the signed confirms is the only code file omitted from the bundle) was not supplied for review; even a tampered copy would be bounded to the popup page under MV3's extension-page CSP with only the storage permission and no host permissions, so it could not reach web pages. Hygiene notes, not findings: jQuery is loaded twice (:8 and 648), and the CWS privacy-policy URL ([domain withheld]) does not match the publisher website ([domain withheld]).
