About this extension
Use HAR Analyzer tool as a HAR file analyzer and .HAR file viewer to inspect requests, errors, timings and domains locally in Chrome
Read the publisherโs full description
๐ HAR Analyzer โ inspect HAR files and browser requests locally The HAR Analyzer Chrome extension helps developers, QA engineers and support teams understand a page load or browser flow. Upload a HAR file or capture network activity from the current tab, then review requests, failures, sizes, timings and domains in one side panel. This HAR file analyzer turns a large HTTP Archive into a focused diagnostic workspace. Instead of reading raw JSON, use the requests table, domain breakdown and local summary to find likely problems. The workspace also serves as a HAR report analyzer for a clear developer handoff. ๐ What is a HAR file? A HAR file records browser network activity in structured JSON, including URLs, methods, status codes, resource types, sizes and timings. A HAR viewer makes it easier to investigate slow pages, failed API calls and third-party resources. Use HAR analyzer and the built-in HAR file viewer as a practical HAR file opener and HAR file reader without copying data into an external website. ๐ Key features โค Upload a .har file by drag and drop or file picker โค Analyze HAR file requests with a shared normalized view โค Inspect method, URL, host, status, type, size and duration โค Search requests and filter by status or resource type โค Group HAR logs by domain, bytes and failures โค Detect slow requests, redirects and large assets โค Flag caching issues, duplicates and heavy third-party domains โค Generate a copy-ready local brief with affected URLs โค Capture available network data from the current Chrome tab ๐งฉ Two analysis workflows 1๏ธโฃ Open HAR files Drop a valid HAR into the side panel. The .HAR file viewer parses it locally and opens Overview, Requests and Domains, with a copy-ready Brief in Overview. Use this workflow for a customer, teammate or browser DevTools export. 2๏ธโฃ Live page capture Choose Reload & capture for a clean page-load trace, or Start capture to record a flow from the current moment. Finish capture to run the same diagnostics. Live mode creates a partial browser trace; it is not a full HAR export and may not include response bodies or every low-level timing field. ๐ Find issues that matter The HAR analyzer tool narrows a trace to useful evidence: โข Failed requests and HTTP error statuses โข Slow resources and the slowest completed request โข Redirects that add extra network steps โข Large scripts, images, fonts or other assets โข Static resources with weak caching โข Duplicate resource URLs โข Heavy third-party domains and transferred bytes This focused HAR file analysis has clear boundaries: - It is not a generic SEO score - It is not a system-wide packet sniffer - It analyzes imported data and information Chrome exposes for the selected tab ๐ Requests, domains and a clear brief Review the result in three steps: 1. Use Requests to view HAR file entries, status, duration and available timings 2. Check Domains for hostname, request count, bytes and failures 3. Expand the Brief in Overview for a local Markdown summary with recommendations and affected URLs ๐ก Practical use cases โธ Investigate a slow or failing page reported by a user โธ Review API errors and unexpected status codes โธ Find large resources and third-party network costs โธ Check redirects, duplicate requests and caching signals โธ Inspect a checkout, login or other multi-step browser flow Whether you need a HAR log analyzer for support or a Chrome HAR analyzer for current-tab debugging, the interface keeps evidence organized. The same workflow fits a HAR analyser, HAR file analyser or saved HAR trace. ๐ Local and privacy-conscious processing Uploaded files, available headers and trace data are processed on your device, not uploaded to an analysis server. No account is required. Use HAR Analyzer offline with a saved file; live capture depends on the page being tested. The Brief uses local rules. This version does not send trace data to an external AI service or analyze unavailable response bodies. โ Frequently asked questions โ How do I open a HAR file? ๐ก Open the side panel, then drag in the file or use the file picker. The HAR reader displays normalized results automatically. โ Can I analyze the current webpage without exporting a file? ๐ก Yes. Start capture for the current tab or reload with capture enabled, then finish the trace to see results. โ Is live capture identical to a DevTools HAR export? ๐ก No. It is a partial trace built from browser APIs. Some headers, response bodies and low-level timings may be unavailable. โจ Start analyzing Install HAR analyzer, open a saved HTTP Archive or capture a browser flow, and turn request data into an organized view of failures, timings, resources and domains.
