GitHub to JetBrains IDE adds a simple way to open repositories from GitHub directly in your JetBrains IDE. It is designed to be ultra lightweight and seamlessly integrated into the GitHub interface, providing a smoother and more consistent experience than similar extensions. The extension makes it easy to move from viewing code on GitHub to editing it locally, without manually cloning repositories. After installation, an additional option appears in GitHub’s Code menu. Selecting "Open with <IDE>" opens the repository in your preferred JetBrains IDE, while the arrow button allows you to choose another IDE if needed. Once you make a selection, the extension remembers it and uses the same IDE automatically the next time you open a repository. If a project is already cloned on your computer, JetBrains Toolbox opens it in the correct IDE automatically. The extension works entirely within the browser and does not collect or share any personal information. All settings are stored locally in your browser.
