Explain This – AI Reading Assistant & Pop-up Translator Chrome extension security report

Explain This — Seamless Inline AI Text Decoder Explain This is a minimalist, lightweight browser extension designed to eliminate the friction of reading complex literature, foreign websites, or technical documentation. It completely ditches the bulky sidebars and pop-ups of traditional extensions, bringing AI-powered explanations directly to your cursor. The Core Experience: Preserving Your Reading Flow When you encounter an obscure word, paragraph, or code snippet, simply highlight it. A minimalist explanation bubble instantly unfolds right where you are, streaming the answer in real time. Once you understand it, click anywhere on the page, and the bubble seamlessly fades away. No tab switching, no shifting focus—your reading context remains completely uninterrupted. Core Features Inline Streaming Response: Highlight to trigger instantly. The text streams word-by-word right below your selection, eliminating long loading waits and jarring page layout shifts. Zero Sidebar Intrusion: We refuse to cramp your screen space. Built with precise coordinate calculations and Shadow DOM isolation, the bubble renders independently without breaking the original web layout. Absolute Privacy (Bring Your Own Key): No account registration or expensive subscriptions. Simply plug in your own API key. Network requests travel directly from your device to the API provider, with no middleman servers tracking your reading data. Auto Dark/Light Mode: Intelligently adapts to your system and current webpage theme. Whether you are reading a bright white document or a dark code editor, the UI automatically adjusts to the most comfortable contrast. Stop toggling between tabs. Highlight the text right now, and let the answers flow naturally into your reading.
