DropCrate keeps an eye on the Unity Asset Store and Fab (Epic's unified marketplace covering the former Unreal Marketplace, Quixel, and Sketchfab) so you never miss a free asset drop. Everything runs locally in your browser — no account, no server, no tracking. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHY DROPCRATE ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Free assets move fast. Unity publishes free items every week, and Fab quietly rotates hundreds of free listings. Checking both stores manually is a chore — and even if you do, it's easy to download the same asset twice because you forgot you already own it. When you're signed into Unity Asset Store, the extension reads your Owned library using your browser's own cookies (the same way a new tab would) and compares it against the free-asset catalog. Only genuinely new, unowned assets trigger a notification. Fab's public catalog is fetched via its official JSON API.
