What impressed me most about DevBridge is not that it solves browser automation, but that it redefines the relationship between AI and the browser. For years, every AI vendor has been building its own browser integration stack—its own extension, protocol, and ecosystem. The result is fragmentation: every time developers switch AI tools, they have to reconfigure workflows, relearn interfaces, and rebuild integrations. DevBridge takes a far more ambitious approach: it abstracts browser capabilities into a universal MCP interface. This transforms the browser from being a feature owned by a specific AI product into shared infrastructure for the entire AI ecosystem. Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and Cline are only the first participants. Any future AI system that supports MCP can instantly gain access to the same browser capabilities. The philosophy reminds me of what USB did for hardware: It wasn't about creating a better device. It was about defining a common standard that allowed every device to work together. What makes DevBridge even more compelling is that it doesn't introduce yet another browser. Instead, it operates directly on the user's existing Chrome environment. Authentication sessions, cookies, localhost applications, staging environments, enterprise dashboards—everything that makes real-world workflows difficult for browser agents is preserved by default. Many products are building browser automation. DevBridge is building browser infrastructure for the AI era. If large language models are becoming the new computing platform, then DevBridge is building the bridge that connects that platform to the real browser where work actually happens.
