Has many flaws and workarounds. While many schools/workplaces use this extension to close about:blank tabs that have games running on them, it doesn't fully solve the problem as there is a major flaw they have left out. Tags. If you test it out with this extension, about:blank will close shortly but with about:blank#put_anything_here it will not close it. (you can put almost anything here.) Because of this flaw, it does not solve the problem of getting rid of about:blank tabs with games in them. You can test this for yourself. Along with this, some gaming websites already add tags to about:blank tabs to prevent this. You can also just make a website using an HTML editor that opens an about:blank tab that has a tag AND runs games on it. This extension is pretty much useless as it acts as fixing a heavily damaged wall with cardboard.

This “about:blank closer” thing is honestly kinda useless and a little misleading. It doesn’t really do what people think it does, and it feels like it’s trying to fix a problem that isn’t even actually a problem. First off, about:blank isn’t a virus or anything you can remove. It’s just a blank page the browser uses when nothing is loaded. So having an extension that says it “closes about:blank tabs” already feels kinda pointless, like it’s trying to delete nothing. Instead of actually fixing real issues like popups, redirects, or sketchy websites, it just focuses on the blank tab itself. So even if it works sometimes, it doesn’t really stop the thing that caused the tab in the first place, so the problem can still keep happening. It also makes stuff like games more annoying sometimes, because a lot of browser games or game sites open new tabs or load in different ways. So when something is randomly closing tabs, it can mess up games or make them not load right, which just makes everything more frustrating instead of better. It can also confuse people, especially if they think something is wrong with their browser when it’s actually just normal behavior. Most of the time, you’d just need popup blockers or better browser settings, not an extra extension like this. Overall, it just doesn’t feel necessary and doesn’t really solve anything real. It kind of makes things more confusing and can even get in the way of playing games or using normal websites instead of actually helping.
