What our analysis found
Cookie AutoDelete, used by 100,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in December 2022.
Analyst notes
The extension is a well-known open-source cookie manager. Its codebase uses the necessary permissions (cookies, browsingData, tabs, <all_urls>) exclusively for its stated purpose of automatic cookie deletion and user-controlled management. No outbound network requests, data exfiltration, or unauthorized data collection were found; all data is stored locally. The use of browser.tabs.executeScript is limited to user-initiated localStorage cleaning, which is within the extension's functionality. The ML model's regex hits (innerHTML, eval) are artifacts of standard bundling (Webpack) and React rendering, not obfuscation or malicious intent. The risk-engine's critical score is solely based on permissions, which are essential for this type of extension.

Main Features - Auto Deletes Site Data from Closed Tabs - WhiteList/GreyList Support - Easily Export/Import your Whitelist/Greylist - Clear Site Data for a Domain - Supports Manual Mode Cleaning from the popup Usage This extension does not clean data automatically until you enable "Auto-clean". This gives you the chance to add sites to the WhiteList. 1. Add the sites you want to keep site data in the WhiteList (permanently) or GreyList (until Browser restart) 2. Toggle "Auto-clean" in the popup or "Automatic cleaning" in the settings 3. Watch those unused site data disappear :) You can disable Cleanup Notifications via the Settings. Note: Site Data are Cookies, IndexedDB, Localstorage, etc. Support for clearing these is dependent on the Browser APIs and the extension implementation. (e.g. Cache and Cache Storage are NOT the same things - we can currently clean Cache, but Cache Storage cleanup is not implemented yet). If you have any other problem, create an issue or support through our GitHub repository. Maybe we can work it out. Note that support may not be available for variants of Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.
