Caption Grab lets you capture and export live captions from Google Meet and transcript data from Vimeo — entirely inside your browser. No bot joins your meeting. No audio is recorded. No data leaves your machine. How to use (Google Meet): 1. Join a Google Meet call 2. Turn on captions in Meet 3. Click the extension icon → Start Recording 4. When you're done, choose a format and click Stop & Save How to use (Vimeo): • Download Transcript — grab the full transcript when the video page has a transcript panel • Start Recording — capture live caption text from the video player Export formats: • Plain text (.txt) — timestamped lines with speaker labels • JSON (.json) — structured data with metadata and speaker list • Markdown (.md) — grouped by speaker, formatted for notes Privacy: • No external APIs or cloud services • No third-party transcription • No audio capture • No server-side processing • Reads only caption text already visible in your browser Settings: Customize debounce timing, opacity thresholds, default format, and filename prefix via the options page (right-click the icon → Options).
