Auto Tab & Video Closer Video Ends. Tab Closes. Clutter Gone. WHAT IT DOES _______________________________________________ This extension serves as an automated housekeeper for your web browser. It actively monitors your open tabs for two specific conditions: whether a video has finished playing or if the browser has been left inactive for a long period. When these conditions are met, it automatically closes the relevant tabs or windows to prevent clutter on browser startup, save memory, and act as a close timer for media tab consumption. KEY FEATURES _______________________________________________ 1. Video Auto-Close The extension detects when HTML5 videos (like YouTube or Netflix) finish playing. If the video was not muted, it starts a visual countdown progress bar on the screen. If you do not interact (left-click, touch the screen, or press a key) within the countdown limit, the tab closes automatically. 2. Session Inactivity Cleanup On browser startup, it calculates how long the browser was closed. If the duration exceeds your set limit (e.g., 60 minutes), it automatically purges all old tabs globally to give you a fresh start. It respects your whitelisted sites and will always keep exactly one active tab open to prevent the browser from closing completely. 3. Watched Videos Tracker (>60%) The extension silently tracks any video tab you watch past 60% of its duration. These tabs are populated in a list inside the extension popup, allowing you to quickly revisit them, close them all at once, or set them to automatically clear themselves on session cleanup. 4. Startup Workflow Manager It can notify you to open a specific "Startup" bookmark folder when you launch your browser. You can set an auto-close timer for this specific reading window. 30 seconds before it expires, an overlay/warning tab will appear, allowing you to keep it open or let the window automatically close itself. 5. Smart Whitelist System & Context Menu It includes a robust exclusion list. You can tag sites to be ignored by the Video Closer (Tag: V), the Session Cleaner (Tag: T), or both (Tag: VT). You can manage this via the popup menu, or simply right-click any webpage and add it to your exclusions via the context menu. You can also export/import your ruleset. HOW TO USE _______________________________________________ STEP 1: Configuration .. Click the extension icon in the toolbar. -- Video Tab: Check "Video Auto-Close" and set the timer (e.g., 10 seconds). You can also enable "Clean on Startup" for watched videos here. -- Startup Tab: Check "Clean on New Session" and set the threshold (e.g., 60 minutes). You can view your live session countdown status here. -- Exclude Tab: Add domains manually, use the Raw JSON Editor, or simply Right-Click any active web page and select "Auto-Close Exclusions" to protect it. STEP 2: Operation .. -- For Videos: Just watch a video. When it ends, the countdown appears. Left-click your mouse or press any key to cancel, or do nothing to let it close. -- For Sessions: Just use your browser normally. If you close and reopen it after the timeout period, old tabs will vanish automatically. -- For Startup Bookmarks: Click the "Save" (💾) icon in the popup to save your current tabs to the Startup folder, then enable "Notify on startup". STEP 3: Manual Shortcuts .. -- Press Ctrl+Shift+Y (or Cmd+Shift+Y on Mac) to instantly force-close all non-whitelisted tabs across ALL windows, leaving only your active tab open. USE CASES _______________________________________________ + The "Sleep Timer" You like watching documentaries or streams while falling asleep. This extension ensures that once the video ends, your computer isn't left running a bright browser window all night. + The "Morning Briefing" You save your top 5 news sites to the Startup folder and set the window timer to 20 minutes. You read your news with your coffee, and the tabs automatically close when it is time to start working. + The "Tab Hoarder" Solution You often leave 50+ tabs open, close the browser, and forget about them. When you return the next day, this extension automatically wipes the slate clean so you are not overwhelmed by yesterday's clutter. + The "Binge Watcher" Cleanup You open multiple YouTube tabs but get distracted. The Watched Videos tracker remembers which ones you've seen past the 60% mark, allowing you to clear out dead media tabs in one click.
