The sole external API call (:224) fetches `[domain withheld] to display a catalog of the publisher's own other extensions — this is first-party promotional content, not data exfiltration. The search permission is used exclusively in a standard `chrome.search.query` call (:126-131) that redirects the user to their own search results; no user data is sent to any external party.
