AresPass finds and shows flaws in your passwords and helps you to interactively create passwords that are safe and easy to remember.

Interactively detect the flaws your passwords have and remove them to make them safe. You might have a password that is easy to remember but weak; fortunatelly by introducing some little changes you may convert it into a strong one, while still being easy to remember. AresPass will help to create such passwords by scanning them and detecting flaws like words, word fragments, leet substitutions or keyboard sequences - to mention some - that render them unsafe. The flaws are detected on the fly and shown in a friendly manner, mapped on the password itself. Let's say that your name is Pascal and that you were born in Bordeaux (France) in 1994. You create the password 'PascalBordeaux/94', which is easy to remember for you. Unfortunately this password is weak. AresPass will detect the two words and will return these an other detected flaws, as well as an estimation of the password entropy - its strength summarized in a number - that will be low. You might think that perhaps a trick as simple as removing all the vowels from the words makes the password good enough, while it remains easy to remember. So you ask AresPass to evaluate the new password - 'PsclBrdx/94' - and what you will get is a report that shows in this particular case that trick works: the new password has only one defect, a short QWERTY keyboard sequence. This is a small flaw and, what really cares, for most uses the new password is good enough for most uses. In summary, use the AresPass web extension and your preferred tricks to create easy to remember passwords yet safe. A remarkable feature of AresPass is that will always try to find words and word fragments for these languages: English, French, German, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. This search is always carried out for all of them, no matter the chosen language for the user interface.
