What our analysis found
Anime - Every Tab Random Manga showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in May 2023.
Analyst notes
The extension is a straightforward new-tab wallpaper that fetches random anime images from the public nekos.best API (a well-known, free anime image API) and displays them as the background. The sole JavaScript file () makes a single GET request to [domain withheld], renders the returned image URL as a CSS background, and displays the artist name via innerHTML — all entirely consistent with the stated purpose. No permissions are declared in the manifest beyond the newtab override, no user data is collected, no external tracking or exfiltration occurs, and the merely links to the publisher's own [domain withheld] site. The ML score of 0.72 is a false positive driven by the small file count and broad feature-space proximity to other new-tab extensions; the risk-engine itself scored it 0.00 with zero findings, which is the correct signal here.
