CDAC’s Akshar Validation Chrome Extension is designed and developed to validate word based on the characters and ABNF (Augmented Backus-Naur Form) formalism outlined in the document titled Akshar – Coded Character Set & Akshar Formation Rules. The plugin utilizes the Akshar Validation API, which implements the rules defined in this document. When a Chrome extension is executed on any webpage or file, each word in the text is analyzed against the characters and the ABNF (Augmented Backus-Naur Form), which defines the acceptable structure of syllables, including consonant clusters, vowel placements, and other phonetic rules. The plugin highlights linguistically incorrect words in red, based on their compliance with ABNF specifications. This validation is essential for applications requiring strict adherence to linguistic or phonological rules, ensuring the data is properly formatted. When hovering over a highlighted red coloured word, a suggestion box appears with a correction and an explanation for the error. If the user chooses to correct the word, they can replace the incorrect term with the suggested one. The Askshara Plugin assists users with an onscreen Indian language enhanced Inscript keyboard. After a successful correction, the plugin will highlight the word in green to indicate the correction is complete. Akshar plugin keep count of the error word and corrected words. Once user completed with correction of incorrect word, user can download edited file for future ref.
